Terms of service

Cyber V (Reg No 2021/995067/07) · Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms govern your use of cyberv.co.za and the hosting, email and domain services provided through it. Please read them before you order. By ordering, paying for or using our services, or by using the client area, you agree to these terms.

1. About us

Cyber V (registration number 2021/995067/07) is a South African web hosting provider with its business address at Mams Mall, Cnr Tsamaya and Solomon Mahlangu, Mamelodi East, Pretoria, South Africa. You can reach us at info@cyberv.co.za or on WhatsApp (messages only) at +27799332306. These details are provided as required by section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

2. The agreement

  • If you order for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business.
  • You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract; if you are under 18, you may only use the services with the help of a parent or guardian.
  • We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice by email or in the client area; continuing to use the services after that means you accept the change.
  • Your order, these terms and any service-specific terms we give you form the whole agreement between us.

3. Our services

  • Web hosting — your website is hosted on our shared hosting platform, with the disk space and features of the plan you ordered.
  • Email hosting — mailboxes, aliases and forwarders on your domain, readable through webmail (cyberv.co.za/webmail) or any mail app.
  • Domain services — registration, renewal and transfer of domain names. We act as a reseller: domains are held with accredited registrars and every domain operation is subject to the rules and policies of the relevant registry (for example ZACR for .za names).
  • SSL certificates — free Let's Encrypt certificates for hosted domains.
  • Portal tools — the client area includes website file management (Web FTP), database management, mailbox and FTP account management and site settings, within the limits of your plan.
  • Plan limits (mailboxes, databases, FTP accounts, disk space and so on) are shown when you order and in the client area. We may adjust limits between plans, but not reduce the limits of a plan you have already paid for without telling you.

4. Your account

  • You must give us true, accurate and current details, and keep them up to date in the client area. Domain registrations require complete registrant details, and registries may verify them — wrong details can suspend a domain.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised. Two-factor authentication is available on every portal account and we strongly recommend it.
  • You are responsible for the users you add and for their use of the services.

5. Orders and prices

  • All prices are in South African Rand and are shown per billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, six-monthly or yearly).
  • Cyber V is not currently registered for VAT. Should that change, VAT will be added to future invoices as required by law.
  • Domain prices depend on the registry and may change at renewal.
  • We may change our prices. Renewals are billed at the price in force at the time of renewal, and we will give you reasonable notice of an increase before it affects your next renewal.

6. Payment

  • Pay online by card through PayFast, or by bank EFT or ATM deposit using the details on your invoice. Always reference your invoice number.
  • Invoices are emailed to you and are always available in the client area. Payment must reflect by the due date.
  • Any credit balance on your account may be applied automatically to due invoices.

7. Renewals, reminders and suspension

Services renew for each billing cycle until cancelled. Here is exactly how our billing and reminder process works:

  • Hosting — your renewal invoice is issued in advance of the due date. If it is unpaid we send reminders on days 1 and 7 after the due date, and the service is suspended on day 8. While a service is suspended it keeps receiving a payment reminder every 7 days. Your data stays in place, and paying restores the service.
  • Domains — we issue the renewal invoice before the registry expiry date allows, and send expiry reminders 30, 14 and 7 days before your domain billing date. Once the renewal invoice is paid we submit the renewal to the registry.
  • Domains that stay unpaid — a domain that is not renewed in time expires and is deleted by the registry. Recovery may be impossible, or expensive, and is subject to registrar rules. It is your responsibility to keep your contact details current so that our invoices and reminders reach you.
  • If we suspend a service for non-payment, we may also disable the website at the server while it is suspended.

8. Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel any service at any time from the client area or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
  • Fees already paid for the current period are not refundable, except where the law requires it or we agree otherwise.
  • Domain registration, transfer and renewal fees are paid over to the registrar and the registry and cannot be refunded once the operation has been submitted.
  • Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
  • Before your service ends, download any website files, databases or mail you want to keep. After termination we may delete your data after a reasonable period.

9. Domains in detail

  • You confirm that the registrant details you give us are accurate, and that registering the domain does not infringe anyone's rights.
  • We share registrant and contact details with the registrar and registry as required for domain operations. Some registries publish registrant contact details in their lookup services; registries also apply their own verification requirements.
  • Registrations are submitted manually after a review — nothing is registered automatically. We may decline or cancel an order where the domain fails registry checks or the details cannot be verified.
  • You are responsible for the DNS records and nameservers for your domain. If DNS is managed for you in our account, changes need your confirmation.
  • Registries apply cut-off times. Make sure renewal payments reach us in good time before the expiry date shown in your client area.

10. Acceptable use

You may not use the services to:

  • do anything unlawful, or infringe anyone's rights (including copyright and trade marks);
  • send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or run mailing lists without consent — our mail servers are protected against this, and breaches put every client's email at risk;
  • host or distribute malware, phishing pages, scams or fraudulent content;
  • attempt to break, scan or overload our servers, networks or other clients' services;
  • consume server resources to the point where other clients are affected (for example through unoptimised scripts or aggressive bots);
  • resell the services unless you have a reseller arrangement with us.

We may remove content, and suspend or terminate a service, for a breach of this section. Where the breach is serious or unlawful we may act immediately and without prior notice, and we may report it to the authorities. You indemnify us against claims arising from your breach.

11. Your content and backups

  • You own your website content, databases and email. You give us the permission we need to store, copy and serve them as part of the services.
  • You are responsible for the legality of your content and for any licences it needs.
  • Please keep your own backups of website files, databases and email. We take care of our infrastructure, but we do not guarantee backups of your data. The database tool in the client area makes a short-lived safety snapshot before an import — that is a convenience, not a backup service.

12. Availability and maintenance

  • We work to keep the services available, but they are provided on a best-effort basis and we do not promise uninterrupted service or any specific uptime, unless we agree a service level with you in writing.
  • We perform planned maintenance, usually outside business hours, and emergency maintenance when needed. We will give notice where we reasonably can.
  • Networks and services outside our control — your own internet connection, DNS providers, registries and payment gateways — can also affect availability.

13. Suspension and termination by us

  • We may suspend or terminate a service for non-payment (see section 7), a breach of these terms, unlawful use, where the law requires it, or where needed to protect our services or other clients.
  • Where it is practical, we will give you notice first and a chance to put things right. For serious abuse or legal demands, we may act immediately.
  • After termination we may delete your data after a reasonable period. Sections about payment, liability and intellectual property survive termination.

14. Liability

  • To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data or email; and our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the fees you paid for that service in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
  • You indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your use of the services, your content, or your breach of these terms.

15. Support and complaints

  • Support is available through the client area (open a ticket — the fastest route), by email at info@cyberv.co.za, or on WhatsApp. Our support hours are weekdays, 08:00–17:00 (SAST).
  • If something goes wrong, contact us first — we would like the chance to fix it. If a consumer complaint cannot be resolved with us, you may approach the National Consumer Commission at www.thencc.gov.za. Privacy complaints are dealt with under our privacy policy.

16. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
  • If a clause is found to be unenforceable, it will be treated as removed and the rest of the agreement continues to apply.
  • Our failure to enforce a right does not mean we give it up.
